For workers with scent sensitivities, the fragrances found in many personal care products may come with unpleasant health effects, including nausea, dizziness, headache, hives, itchy eyes and nose, coughing, breathing difficulties, and asthma.
To help all employees breathe easier, more workplaces are adopting a fragrance-free policy. For workplaces making the transition, CCOHS offers buttons designed for employees to show their support for a fragrance-free environment, with the declaration of “I'm air aware”.
